“ While these powers are at work pushing, pulling, sideways, downwards, upwards, I can hear the sound of their strife and there is great music being played.”
-John Marin

Movement! My world in these mountains is alive and kicking with movement. I can not help but see the rays of the sun or feel the rushing of the wind as I cross a high mountain pass minutes or hours into one of my long distance runs. These running experiences help me concentrate on what path is to be taken for the daily painting sessions. As I dance through giant boulder fields I am energized by the shear mass of the high alpine world.

These paintings you see of mine are all special moments I have experienced~ everything is perfect at that one rare moment. Time stands still and a mental image is embossed. Now, it is time to distill “ it” for minutes, hours, or days. It is this memory of that moment that is most important, not the outright copy of nature. Nature to me is the only perfect element in our life. We have been given the wonderful power of the imagination. My imagination is a tool, just as my paintbrush is a tool. I have the power to alter these images in nature not to make them perfect, but to make them mine alone. Here is where the excitement lies!

I hope you enjoy what you see and that these paintings bring you some happiness.

Cheers !
